Description of the Incident:
I, Albert, am reporting an online scam where I was deceived into paying €1,200 (first month's rent of €600 and a security deposit of €600) via cryptocurrency for a fraudulent apartment rental listing on what appeared to be the Idealista platform. The scammer impersonated the legitimate Idealista real estate website, using fake emails, a fabricated lease agreement, and instructions to pay via cryptocurrency exchanges (MoonPay and Mercuryo). The apartment was never provided, and no legitimate handover or verification occurred. This matches known patterns of rental scams where fraudsters pose as landlords or platforms to extract upfront payments in irreversible cryptocurrency.
The scam began with an unsolicited email offering me selection as a tenant for the property. Subsequent emails urged quick payments for "security" through a held-funds system, which is not how Idealista operates. I was provided with a fake lease agreement and instructed to purchase and transfer Litecoin (LTC). After the transfers, communication ceased, and I realized it was a fraud when no keys or further legitimate contact were provided.

Additional Notes:

The emails impersonate Idealista but use suspicious formatting, minor typos (e.g., "ideaIista" in some footers), and non-standard processes like cryptocurrency payments, which Idealista does not support.
Cryptocurrency transfers are irreversible, and the recipient wallet shows patterns consistent with scam operations (funds quickly moved).
I have not received any refund, property access, or further legitimate communication.
This report is for submission to relevant authorities, such as the Italian Polizia Postale (for cyber fraud), Spanish Guardia Civil, Idealista support, MoonPay/Mercuryo fraud teams, and international bodies like the FBI's IC3 or EUROPOL.

I declare that the information provided is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge and am available for further questioning.
